Self-Care for Medical and Mental Health Professionals
It is my belief that medical professionals and therapists need to be as involved in self-care as we ask ourpatients to be.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we see that medical professionals are being called to push themselves further than they thought they could go. Most medical professionals are finding themselves in an unprecedented level of stress. Some medical professionals are enduring what we in the psych field term "moral injuries" in the format of patient-care that they are being required to align with.
See HERE for a helpful pdf on COVID-related trauma as it relates to PTSD for first responders and medical professionals.
A majority of my practice is spent working with medical professionals and first-responders and their families.
I provide short-term therapy, longer-lasting psychotherapy, and ongoing check-in sessions for mental health providers. Whether you need therapy due to the rough parts of life, or the rough parts of being in a helping, healthcare profession, I’m ready to confidentially walk through that area of life with you.
